Dor Habonim Beach is one of the most indented beaches along the coast of Israel. Some even say it is the most beautiful and unique beach on the coast of Israel.
Dor Habonim Beach Nature Reserve is located between Dor beach and Habonim beach. The reserve is characterized by circular bays and rocky gravel on the waterfront. Another distinctive feature of these beaches is their soft white sand; the sand makes its way from Africa, through the Nile River that spills into the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt, to the beach. Sand, along with other mineral substances, creates the sandstone ridges. Over the years, the sandstone ridges which were once popular in Israel have disappeared and are hardly seen anymore.
