Snorkeling

On the shores of the Red Sea, year-round snorkeling is one of the primary draws at Eilat. Due to its location on the southern most tip of Israel, the region has been a shipping port since the time of King Solomon.

Eilat’s Coral Beach Nature Reserve protects Israel’s only coral reef, which is one of the world’s northernmost reef systems. Here you will find spectacular yet beginner-friendly snorkeling. The reef is roughly 3/4 of a mile long and is home to over 100 types of coral and 650 types of fish. Among the species you may spot are butterfly fish, parrot fish, lion fish, groupers, rays and even marine turtles. A number of designated underwater trails are marked by buoys. Snorkeling gear is available for rent.
